A charitable trust proposed here could be crucial in bringing out changes .A real change is believed to happen about by the emancipation of women. A dedicated work to achieve modern education and economic liberation remain bases to get them out of their narrow gender role .Even though, there has been improvement in the condition of women folks in cities and big towns, rural situation has not changed over the past decades. Inaccessible areas such as karnah remains neglected and are difficult to reach and reap the benefits of development happening elsewhere in the society .Patriarchal societal pressure and resistance form established powers have played key role in keeping the situation as it exists at present.

Begum khatam Noor belonged to village Amrohi in Karnah and some of her work in 1970s and early eighties about religious education, women counselling and health education could certainly be considered as “ahead of her time”.Unfortunately, there has not been much progress over the past couple decades due to prevailing condition in jammu and kashmir. The proposed charitable trust will carry that work forward with much better enthusiasm and bring in modern changes to the village where this great lady was born in particular and karnah in general.
